25.
Water in the Room.
I kind of saw it coming. For a few days already
the A/C had some water running off it. We mentioned it to the front desk and
they said they would keep an eye on it, but when the A/C stopped working we
made it a point to tell them it’s broken.
Waiting for the AC to be Repaired |
Within a few hours a man came, inspected the
A/C unit and said it needed a cleaning. He worked on the machine for a few
hours, while we read our books on the veranda.
Long story short, we had to move into another
room. The A/C needed more than just a cleaning.
So now we are exactly next door to where we have
been for about 10 days.
Same room just mirrored. The crew of the hotel moved all of our stuff.
It was an easy move.
All the Furniture Is Made of Bamboo |
Nobody got bent out of shape that something did
not work. They took it as a fact of life and took the next step. I liked the
way they handled the inconvenience of it all.
We could learn something from that, especially
in NYC. I remember a scene where Dustin
Hoffman is walking across the street in Urban Cowboy, yelling at a taxi driver:
“Yo, I’m walking here!” Such
‘self-importance’ is unheard of in Bali.
I guess in Bali you learn early….S@#t happens! You go with the flow!
Yes, we had water on the floor…. Yes, the A/C
did not work… OK, what’s next?
