NZ 19 Jet Boat Ride.
Everyone On the Tour Did This Ride. We Filled 2 Boats |
We
had to get up early for our trip on a “water-jet” boat. Fred booked the
earliest tour as it was the only opening on short notice for our large group. So
no sleeping in, this is serious stuff.
We needed 2 smallish buses to bring all 20
of us to the dock on the Shotover River that runs into the main lake.
Very Impressive Piloting of the Boat and Impressive Scenery |
You
can read all the particulars on their website if you ever come here and want to
do this ride. I would suggest you do, because all the people loved it, including
Carol and me.
What
a blast, those boats are fast and the feeling of them racing through the narrow
canyon, how they swerve left and right to avoid the canyon walls and the rocks
is spectacular.
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Did This Ride |
No,
I was not afraid; the people who run this attraction know what they are doing.
There is a long learning curve and all the pilots must be certified and get re-certified
over and over again. The boats only last about 3 years, but each 6 months each
boat gets totally rebuilt, even if nothing is wrong, they get new parts.
It’s
a very safe ride but exhilarating. I think the pictures tell the tale.
We
had a blast, a wonderful experience well worth the $155 dollars we each spent
for this; about a 30-minute ride.
We
were not allowed to video while riding the boats, so this video above is the
best I could find. You’ll get the idea…. Whoopee…what a ride!
