51. Yet Another Sea Day

Yet Another Sea Day

The ship is relentless. The schedule must be kept. The whole operation of cruising is like a well oiled machine. It’s a computer program that runs and runs and runs.

Nothing seems to get in its way.

Maintenance is performed, rather than repair.  We are ‘steaming’ north.
Next Port of Call will be Salaverry, Peru.

Yes, I attended the destination lecture by Humberto; he can tell me things about the coming up tour I booked with the Ship’s Excursion Office.
The Moche Valley and Its Water Supply

I love mysterious archeology. I want to know and see why those people lived on that spot and not the other spot, a few miles away? There is always a reason why this one spot was the place and not the other. Why did those people, the Chimu, build here?

We had a general lecture at the Wheelhouse bar showing us how Jewelry is designed, made, promoted. It reminded me of my business. How do you sell a useless item? All you can appeal to is vanity! It was painful for me to get back to this entire BS.

In the afternoon, we joined Jean’s team for trivia. Some people’s heads are full of this stuff. They know a lot of nothing. We did not win.

Dinner was painful. We sat with 2 women who did not speak. If we offered a question they each had a one word answer. Why did they join a table, it would have been better if they sat alone. It is difficult, yes, even painful to deal with people sometimes. Yuk, what a pair of duds!

The night entertainment was Mark Preston. Do you remember the ‘Lettermen’?
I don’t remember them at all, but Carol did, she was singing along, she knew those songs, danced to them when young. It was not my era, but lots of people loved this guy.
