Punta Arenas, Costa Rica
Phew
hot 96 F (36C)
We
arrived in Punta Arenas around 8.30 AM and lots of people had booked
excursions. Carol and I, after most people went ashore, just walked to see the
vendors on or near the pier.
The Westerdam, a Holland America Line ship, about
the same size as our ship, was docked right next to us. The pier was busy and
it was hot.
It was so hot that we found a restaurant with A/C, Wi-Fi and just hung out until we went back to the ship for a late lunch.

Bless
those people that live here and also the tourists that have all this energy in
the heat.
When
the temps go up and the humidity index hits 60+% I start to melt and my energy
level just drains away.
Carol feels the same way.
We both sat in our cabin and watched a movie called ‘Waking Ned Devine’, a rerun watch for me, but still better than slogging around in this inferno outside.
For the evening show we had a special performance and it was called a British Pub Night. It was hilarious. Audience participation made it even funnier. Jokes and sing-a-longs and even dancing in the aisles. Fun+++
Everybody
received GREEN bead necklaces.
But I wonder… why did the ship
not have special Irish food for the day?
Nor even Costa Rican
food? Or have a Costa Rican performance,
like they did in Callao a few days ago?
Dinner was with Sonia (she
spoke so softly I could not hear her) and Dori, her partner. My notes say….
Boring!
